Loud cheers and great rejoicing! Juicy colds are horrible things.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
Yes, I know. My troubles are few and light. But juicy colds
are horrible things.
We will probably have to move the lab after all. But not till much closer to the end of the year. This will be much more convenient than in the middle of the summer research projects.
I did go to my granddaughter's soccer game on Saturday. She did quite well when she could do something without having to run anywhere, prevented more than one goal, certainly - she kicks hard and accurately. She would be really good at soccer if she liked the game.
Since we were all well again, we did go out for my birthday lunch that got postponed for illness. McMenamin's has changed their menu, but the food is still as good as ever. I think we may go down to Sanborn's for breakfast at opening time on Mother's Day - it seemed a good idea to both me and my daughter.
And I finally remembered to tell her that my non-stop out for my NN15 vacation got changed to a one-stop that requires me to be at the airport at stupid o'clock in the morning. I plan to check again in early June - it could have changed again by then.
She had errands to run and I ended up babysitting for about four hours so she could get them done in half the usual time. She's working this morning - I hope to get my own errands run this afternoon.
Did I mention that I used some of my birthday splurge money to buy 10 pounds of einkorn flour? It makes really gooooood biscuits.
